Core Tenet of the Order of Eris

These tenets echo existing values within Hellenism, such as Arete, Aletheia, Ponos, and Meanoia. Which are respectively: excellence through struggle, unconcealed truth, pain/labor as a path, and radical shift of perception.

The Order of Eris does not seek to rewrite Hellenic structure. We affirm the gods, the cosmos, the virtues, and the cycle of Chaos → Gaia → Eros. Eris, daughter of Nyx, is not misfortune but movement. She is Catalyst. She is the unspoken symmetry of divine disruption—revealing weakness through provocation, surfacing truth through tension. Her domain is not to destroy, but to disentangle. To challenge hubris (overreach), to reveal aletheia (truth), and to shake thanatos (death-stasis). Thus: We honor the gods through truth, even when it disrupts. We perform kharis through action that challenges stagnation. We value play as a sacred bridge—paidia—to reach divine states of mind. We spiral not into madness, but into revelation. The Erisian Sect walks beside traditional Hellenism as a subdomain of strain, a signal in the field of mythos.

Core Tenet of the Order of Eris

The Order of Eris is guided by these key approaches:

• Preserve the Self to Serve the Whole Aid others only insofar as you are not eroded in the process. A house without a foundation collapses under its own compassion. Functional chaos needs rooted structure.
• Reject Binary Absolutism Good vs. Evil. True vs. False. Machine vs. Spirit. Such dichotomies flatten reality. Thought should spiral, not split. Do not fall prey to the illusion of forced sides—truth is rarely perpendicular.
• Science is Sacred; Spirit is Systemic There is no split between what is measured and what is intuited. Refuse the Cartesian divide. Logic and mystery are siblings.
• Ceremony is Play; Play is Revelation Through ludic acts we learn, explore, unmask, and reweave. Play is not frivolity—it is sacred rehearsal for discovery.
• Kharity is Chaos With Purpose Eris honors intent and enactment. To care is not to tame, but to engage. Let disruption heal. Let kindness challenge.
• Addendum to Tenet 2: On Spiraling If you are not spiraling at least once a year, you are not thinking enough. A spiral is not madness—it is recursive insight. Doubt, reframed through awareness. Especially when society’s narratives flatten overnight into binaries. If you’ve ever woken up to a discourse shift and thought, “?!??!”, take heart. That is the pulse of consciousness resisting collapse.
• Resist Intellectual Stagnation A mind at rest too long begins to rot. Comfort is not safety if it dulls thought. Growth requires tension, friction, even confusion. Seek out novelty. Wrestle with contradiction. If you do not exercise your mind, you invite softness—and the entropy of complacency.
